A HOMEOWNER’S TESTIMONIAL – LIFE IN CENTRALE, LUŠTICA BAY
LB team: Please, introduce yourself to our readers.
Evelina: My name is Evelina, and I am 34 years old. Originally, I come from Poland but, I have been living in the UK for the past 15 years together with my husband Stuart and our two little dogs Pepsi and Lola. We live just outside of London in a county called Essex. For the last 30 years, my husband has been working as a very successful bond broker.
However, as we all know, behind every successful man, stands a strong woman! (laugh) My husband and I share many passions, among which the love for travelling, properties, people, and entertainment.
Apart from supporting my husband in his everyday work, I run my own interior design company and consider myself as an entrepreneur. As someone who is always on the lookout for new knowledge, my list of interests is virtually endless, and it grows with each passing day.
LB team: What made you choose Montenegro and Luštica Bay in particular?
Evelina: A few years ago, a good friend of mine booked last minute holidays to Montenegro. I followed her journey via Instagram, and I was completely captivated by Montenegro’s beauty! When she got back, she told me all about her fabulous experience and the wonderful hospitality of the Montenegrin people. I didn’t think about it too much, I jumped straight on Rightmove to see the property prices and property for sale in Montenegro! Within a day of my research, I decided to go to Montenegro to investigate in more detail. Fortunately, my husband is extremely supportive of all my ideas, and he encouraged me to go ahead with my plan.
I immediately booked a ticket to Tivat and upon landing, I hired a very big family car (as it was the only automatic available at the moment) and the search for my pre-booked accommodation started! After depending on a very old Garmin GPS and not having a clue where I was going – the only option was to drive ahead! The road led me to a stunning place, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Luštica Bay! I stopped the car and came out to enjoy this calming view, beautiful colour of the water and all the yachts in the background.
I rang my husband and told him: “Oh you will not believe it, but I’ve not been here even an hour and I already managed to get lost twice, I don’t even know if I am in the right place!“
My husband just laughed and said: ”You wouldn’t be you, if you didn’t have a story to tell.”
My accommodation at Luštica was stunning. It was a one-bedroom apartment with a beautiful sea view, decorated very tastefully, with a calming energy across the whole development. Maxim, who greeted me, was my saver and guardian angel! I owe him the most. He told me a lot about the country from the perspective of a foreign person living in Montenegro and urged me to not make any rush decisions. He also said: ”If there is one place where you ought to buy an apartment, Luštica Bay is the one to look out to!“
On the same day, I headed to the Luštica Bay website, and booked an appointment with the salesperson. That’s how I met Ana, with whom I shared an instant connection, as if we knew each other for years. She wasn’t your typical salesperson! She was warm, authentic, with an energy so beautiful that instead of spending an hour with her, I think I’ve spent 3, and I still didn’t want to part with her.
At the end of our encounter, I told her that I am not quite sure how but, I will buy an apartment in Luštica Bay. I rang my husband this very same day, and the rest was just history! 🙂
LB team: Do you have a favourite spot in Montenegro? And how about Luštica?
Evelina: I try to avoid very tourist-oriented areas. The one that I love is Our Lady of the Rocks Island. I love the story behind it, and I already told my husband if we ever decide to renew our wedding vows – it can only take place in that beautiful church on that tiny island!
It goes without saying that my favourite spot in Montenegro is Luštica Bay. I come to Montenegro to find peace, to switch off and simply inhale fresh air. I love joining yoga classes whilst in Luštica, with the sound of the sea and birds in the background – nothing can beat that!
When I am in the mood for a coffee with a view, I enjoy spending time in Vista in Budva. Sveti Stefan island is yet another stunning place that completely mesmerises me. I was fortunate enough to visit it once for dinner – the island itself is magical, with the little churches and the charming architecture – a true masterpiece!
LB team: How would you describe your little haven – the apartment that you have at Luštica Bay?
Evelina: The architecture throughout the whole development is just gorgeous. It has character, you don’t feel as if you were in typical new development. Luštica seems like a new version of a cute Mediterranean village. The use of natural materials such as stone, plants and trees across the development, beautiful beaches, are just some elements that attracted me to purchase the apartment at Luštica Bay.
I am totally in love with my little sanctuary of peace in Centrale. To put it quite simply, it’s my home away from home! I enjoy the private outdoor space that comes with the apartment, and I love having breakfast on the balcony overlooking Lovćen mountain.
LB team: Would you be able to define your life in Montenegro in 3 words?
Evelina: Peaceful – Slow – Nourishing!
I just feel like, every time I leave Montenegro, my body feels rested and ready for new challenges!
LB team: What is your message to our readers, visitors or future homeowners?
Evelina: All the beautiful pictures of Montenegro and Luštica Bay cannot show you the magical feeling encapsulated by this place. I love bringing my friends and family over because whoever comes for the first time can’t hide their joy and excitement. They feel exactly how I felt when I first came here, back in 2018.
The buying process can be quite daunting, especially when you buy property abroad. However, personally I must say that I had the best experience with Mija who was my go-to person, throughout various stages of the building. You can rest assured that people in the sales department will deliver the highest standards of service and customer care. Nothing seems to be impossible for these guys!
